Career & Education at CeMESS

The Centre is made up of the people who do the teaching, research and administration here. Recruiting and training are therefore the two pillars that determine how the Centre progresses and succeeds.

In addition to the active promotion of talented postdoctoral researchers, the training of outstanding PhD students plays an outstanding role at CeMESS. At the Vienna Doctoral School in Microbiology and Environmental Science, early career researchers have the opportunity to advance their scientific careers with an outstanding rate of supervision and access to an excellent infrastructure. CeMESS also offers the FWF-funded MAINTAIN PhD programme, which specialises in microbial symbiosis.

The Centre's distinctive research focus is the starting point for teaching that is at the forefront of current developments. CeMESS members are not only dedicated researchers but also enthusiastic teachers in a variety of BA & MA courses.
