Thorsten was awarded for his extensive work on polymer-based particles in aqueous systems. His research ranges from fundamental work on the definition of plastic in the environment to the use of innovative machine learning methods. Especially for the understanding of the interactions between organic xenobiotics and microscale plastic particles in aquatic and terrestrial systems, Thorsten achieved pioneering results. With his internationally recognized studies, water chemistry research was given important new impulses.
Congratulations, Thorsten!
