Thomas Böttcher has recently been elected as a member of the Leibniz Association’s “Senate Competition Committee”. He holds a joint professorship for Microbial Biochemistry at the Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science (CMESS) and at the Faculty of Chemistry.
The “Senate Competition Committee” - Senatsausschusses Wettbewerb (SAW) – evaluates the applications from the Leibniz institutions submitted within the framework of the competition procedure and submits its funding recommendations to the Leibniz Senate. The Leibniz Association, headquartered in Berlin, brings together nearly 100 German non-university research institutes. Thomas Böttcher has been appointed to the board for the next four years.
