David Berry awarded WWTF Life Sciences 2024 Grant

David Berry of DOME has been awarded a WWTF (Vienna Science and Technology Fund) Life Sciences 2024 grant. His project focuses on engineering gut microbiomes to enhance human health by promoting anti-inflammatory processes.

We are thrilled to announce that David Berry has received a WWTF Life Sciences 2024 grant for his project, "Engineering enhanced microbiome function using synthetic ecology." This project aims to design personalized microbial consortia to improve gut health by optimizing the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs).

Co-Principal Investigator Stefanie Widder from the Medical University of Vienna will contribute her expertise to this interdisciplinary effort. The project promises to pave the way for novel approaches in microbiome engineering, with transformative implications for health and disease management.
