Full Professor of Environmental Biogeochemistry of Metals

Human activities are driving rapid environmental change on a global scale, with pollutants playing a critical role in pushing planetary systems beyond safe limits. These changes have profound consequences for biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and human health.

To address these pressing challenges, the Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science (CeMESS) is seeking a Full Professor to lead research on the biogeochemical mechanisms and processes that govern the dynamics and fate of metals in environmental systems. While the primary focus of this position is on metals, we also welcome applications from candidates whose research centers on organic pollutants.

This professorship is part of the Division of Environmental Geosciences (EDGE) and embedded within CeMESS, which integrates research on environmental pollution with microbiome science and terrestrial ecosystem research. Active collaboration across these areas is expected.
